Overview

Haringey is a north London borough, with one of the highest poverty rates in London – with more than a third of people living in poverty (33.8%). 25% of workers do not earn a living wage, which is also above the London average of 22%.  The west of Haringey contains very prosperous areas such as Muswell Hill and Crouch End, whereas the east of the borough has a lot of deprivation. However, overall income inequality in Haringey is actually narrowly below the London average.

Haringey performs close to the London average on most other indicators. The worklessness rate of 4.67% is slightly below the London average, and Haringey is in line with the rest of the capital on education, affordable homes and health as well.
