Haringey is a north London borough, with one of the highest poverty rates in London – with more than a third of people living in poverty (33.8%). 25% of workers do not earn a living wage, which is also above the London average of 22%. The west of Haringey contains very prosperous areas such as Muswell Hill and Crouch End, whereas the east of the borough has a lot of deprivation. However, overall income inequality in Haringey is actually narrowly below the London average.
